Le Domaine De l’Hostellerie

The “Domaine de l’Hostellerie” is the story of an encounter, a shared passion and a desire to start a new life.
It is the desire to create a place where people would feel right at home, a place that would bring them calm and serenity.
It is also the desire to meet and discuss with people from all over the world.

Although exchanges are more hazardous in English, I must admit it, we can assure you that we are actively working on it!
In addition, it is the desire to introduce people to our beautiful region, Normandy, where we are
both from.

Both? It’s us, Lise and Gilles.

After more than a year of research, we had a unanimous crush on this estate in 2016. Its location, its
majesty, its old Caen stones, its calm and its potential, everything seduced us.
After a house move and our little daughter Noé’s arrival, we were now the owners of OUR house!
Once we got the keys, we were off for 6 months of renovation work, 6 months after which our first
two guesthouses were born.
We barely had time to catch our breath and we were already full. That’s it, our dream was finally
coming true.
Each year, we carry out new renovation works to enlarge one, then two, then three guesthouses.
And every time, the same warm welcome from our guests.

In 2019, we decided to completely rethink the domain to give it its final configuration today.
Our main line of thought has been to put ourselves in the place of guests and to ask ourselves what we would like to find in a guesthouse or in a “gite”, both in terms of services, atmosphere and energy that emerges from it.

The first two lodgings have been turned into guesthouses to complete the three existing ones. Then we created a lodging in the old smokehouse of the estate. And finally, we have created a common area for our guests staying in guesthouses. This true relaxation area allows you to warm up by the fire in winter and fully enjoy the beautiful warm evenings of summer.

The icing on the cake, a swimming pool came in 2022 to complete our domain. The latter is covered and heated, which allows you to enjoy it for a good part of the year.

Today we are very proud to welcome you to our home, which we hope will be as cozy as possible. We wanted a place where couples of lovers and parents with young children could rub shoulders. For parents with teenagers, don’t worry we have thought of everything, the wi-fi connection is perfectly working !
We hope we have successfully achieved this goal, and we look forward to meeting with you to share it with you.
